PRP stands for platelet rich plasma. The method of injecting plasma which contains blood cells below the skin to treat hair and skin diseases, is called PRP. These applications have been carried out in large numbers recently and favoured at many centers.
Plasma which contains blood cells is rich in reparative substances. If any problems occur on the skin, these reparative substances go there and treat them. Negative factors like environmental problems, smoking and stress ensure rapid death of cells. Sagging, stretch marks and spots are formed on skin, because dead cells are not replaced. Substances, which are to be found in blood cells, are necessary to treat them. These are extracted, put inside the serum and placed in a device called centrifuge where they are held for 8 minutes to resolve. The substance that has been resolved is injected back into the troubled skin or hair area with the mesotherapy method and a quick recovery of that area is ensured. The number of sessions are determined by the physician. The decision about how many sessions are to be performed is made by the physician considering factors like what the problem is and in which situation it is.One session takes approximately 40 minutes. In general, a maximum of 6 sessions are performed. An anesthetic cream is spread on that particular area 20 minutes prior to the start of procedure for treatment with the Prp method. These creams ensure the numbing of the area. The mesotherapy or so-called napping technique applied on the numbed area assures the operation is painless. There is not any risk of allergic reactions in the treatments that are performed with Prp method. This is because no external substance is used, all of the substances are obtained from one’s own body.
The Prp method has become a very popular method recently. Also, it is applied at many centers. This method, which is used at skin and hair problems, is to inject one’s own blood back to the troubled area, after the blood has been taken and decomposed. Facial, hand and hair rejuvenations are possible with this method.
